
Bishara Law Immigrant Heritage Scholarship
The Bishara Law Immigrant Heritage Scholarship is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the remarkable journeys of immigrants and their descendants in the United States. This scholarship aims to honor those who have made significant contributions to their communities and have demonstrated resilience and ambition in their pursuit of higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be either an immigrant who has moved to the United States or a descendant of immigrants, meaning at least one parent was born outside of the U.S.
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- The applicant must like and/or follow Bishara Law on Facebook and/or Instagram.
- The applicant must share the scholarship announcement video on their own social media to help spread the word about this opportunity.
Application Requirements
1. Family Journey
Describe your family’s journey to the United States. How did your family manage to come to the U.S. and obtain their status? Reflect on the experiences of your family during this process.
2. Adjustment and Challenges
Detail how your family’s social life and daily experiences changed from living overseas to living in the United States. What were the major challenges they faced upon arrival, and how did they overcome them?
3. Personal and Academic Aspirations
Explain your current field of study and how it relates to your family’s history and experiences. What are your educational and professional goals? How do you plan to contribute to your community and to the broader American society?
4. Impact of Heritage
Discuss how your family’s immigrant background has shaped your values, perspectives, and ambitions.
Essay Guidelines
- The essay must be a maximum of 800 words.
- Originality is essential; essays must be written personally by the applicant. Submissions that are determined to be AI-generated will be disqualified.
- Ensure your essay is well-organized, clear, and free of grammatical errors.
- Selection and Award
Three exceptional essays will be selected based on the depth of reflection, clarity of expression, and overall impact. Each chosen recipient will be awarded $3,000 to be used towards their college tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The deadline for submission is December 23rd and winners will be announced on January 1st
